Dr. Steve Vockert is the son of our "founding father" Dr. Walter Vockert. Dr. Steve became an integral part of Halsey East immediately following the completion of his education in 1987, purchasing the clinic in 2001 when Walter retired. He is a graduate of Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine and completed a fourteen month internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the prestigious Rowley Memorial Animal Hospital in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Dr. Steve has shared his life with many four legged family members and has two rescue cats that keep staff and clients entertained at the clinic. Steve has always been a part of this community, living close to the clinic, attending local schools and being loyal to the growth and development of our neighborhood. Dr. Steve works very hard to offer unfailing dedication and support to his clients and their pets. It is not unusual to have Dr. Steve call you after hours to follow up on your pets condition or discuss test results with a concerned owner.
Dr. Karen Vidos, DVM
Although a native of New Orleans, Dr. Karen Vidos has called Portland home for over a decade.She moved to Oregon because of the wealth of outdoor activities.Dr. Vidos lives in northeast Portland with her husband, two sons, three cats and three fish. When she is not working, she juggles family and art projects.Dr.Vidos is an avid gardener and a sculptor.
